I Need Your Help!

I am writing a book of mini biographies. Stories about you and your classmates. People that have achieved, many times overcoming great difficulties.

Did You Know?

A Scrapper became a Supreme Court justice.

A Scrapper who is a renowned trombone player is a girl. She is known worldwide.

A Scrapper became a police Lieutenant and retired after 26 years on the police force and then had a second career as a very accomplished artist. You have all seen her paintings.

A Scrapper who had a legendary career as the probate court clerk in Memphis. After his death, a public servant award is now presented each year honoring his name. His picture hangs in the courthouse, an honor reserved for only judges and our Scrapper classmate.

A Scrapper flunked out of school in the 11th grade; and then, after meeting his future wife while in the Air Force, completed his education to become a dentist. He finished his career as a professor at the University of Missouri teaching dentistry.

Two Scrapper brothers, one becoming a Federal Judge, the other becoming the CEO of one of the largest food companies in the world.

A Scrapper who became the military aid to Colin Powell after keeping him alive in Vietnam as a young Lieutenant. He finished his career in Washington with General Colin Powell.

A Scrapper became Vice President in charge of world sales with Proctor & Gamble.

A Scrapper while having a career teaching art at a Memphis High School became one of the three best known artists in the South. (The other two are Scrappers).

A Scrapper took a South Memphis neighborhood hardware store and developed it into a well known appliance and hardware business with several locations and with a big time reputation for quality and value.

A Scrapper worked himself up through the ranks until he became Owner of the most prestigious kitchen equipment store in Memphis.

A Scrapper, after becoming a well known physician, became the Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery of the Methodist Hospital South.

A Scrapper from “The Fort” became a physician, and now in retirement, is a member of the U.T. Medical School Board of Directors.

These are a hint of the subjects for the mini biographies. Some of these you already recognize, but, you will like “the rest of the story”.

I need information on others. This is where I need your help.

I will not list all the achievers here, but, you can see that we have a rich history of which we all are proud. I need your help in collecting information on our classmates for inclusion in the book. It is not practical to include all of us in the book, so, we will limit the number of mini biographies.

Please submit to me any and all information for those you feel have achieved. I need their name, phone number, address, email address if you can get it. I will interview all names submitted and write the biographies of the chosen.

You will enjoy these stories. The success of this undertaking is dependant upon your help in the collection of data.

Cost for this book will only be to cover expenses. All profit (if there is any) will go 100% to St. Jude.

I am now waiting on you. LET’S GET BUSY!!
