Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 20:03, on Monday, January 31, 2005

Bob Strong, of Olive Branch MS, class of 51, is down and can't get up. Bob has suffered from Parkinston Disease, then developed cancer of the back, then fell on a walker and broke his hip. Bob cannot move his legs at all now. He is in a hospital bed at home and can't get up.I spent some time with him Saturday, January 29th and saw a Bob that I did not know. He has lost weight and is flat on his back and Ann is taking care of him. If ever anyone needed our prayers, it is Bob. Pray that Bob will get better and be able to move around again. Let your prayers also be for Ann. She needs them as much as Bob.

Third Tuesday Breakfast

Posted by KathalineHarbison47 at 12:49, on Tuesday, January 18, 2005

Baby, it was cold outside! But that didn't keep our Class of 1947 from our third Tuesday breakfast! Seventeen of us were present, and with all the hugging going on, a lot of warmth was passed around! What a joyous thing it is to be among "old" friends once again! We are so blessed to have this connection with each other.
We missed Dot and Lewis Garner. Lewis is still recuperating from his fall on the ice which resulted in a broken pelvic bone. Don't forget those prayers, calls, and cards for those who aren't well. God bless us every one!

FREE!! ORIGINAL GOSPEL SHEET MUSIC...

Posted by LewisDalton59 at 16:22, on Monday, January 10, 2005

ORIGINAL GOSPEL MUSIC...These are southern gospel style songs. Some people may just enjoy reading them like poetry but there may also be some that sing in their church choir and would want copies of the sheet music, which I can mail to them if they request thru email.

We have over 170 relatively new songs and are writing new ones all the time. These are professional compositions with 4-part harmony that can be used by groups, choirs or as solos.

All of these songs (music and lyrics) are copyrighted by me and the composer but we freely give Scrappers permission to print and make copies for themselves and groups or choirs they participate in as long as they aren't used for commercial purposes.

There's a free downloadable reader that can open the music files of my songs so they can be played on the computer and/or printed. Contact me for information.

I can be reached by going to the Scrapper Register... search for class of 1959 and click on Dick Clayton to e-mail me.

Below is a sample of one of the songs....

Footprints
Lyrics by: James R. Clayton

Verse 1
The footprints of our Savior,
Oh they mean so much to me.
From the waters of the Jordan,
On the road to Calvary;
Dying for our pardon,
As He bore our sin and shame.
In His footprints we must follow,
By His strength and in His name.

Verse 2
The footsteps we’re now taking,
Through the passing years of time;
Leave impressions for some others,
By our footprints left behind.
Many we are touching,
Even some we’ll never know.
How we walk will make a diff’rence,
Ev’ry where that we may go.

Verse 3
Someday when we’re in heaven,
While we’re sitting at His feet,
With our footprints far behind us,
And our journey then complete.
Jesus will remind us,
With a smile upon His face,
If we followed in His footprints,
Walking in His love and grace.

Chorus
Oh the footprints, blessed footprints,
Jesus left for all to see.
Down dusty roads, on desert sands,
And upon the stormy sea.
Standing high upon a mountain,
Shining bright in majesty.
He then left His precious footprints,
Walking on to Calvary.

Looking forward to hearing from you...

Dick Clayton '59

Classmate is in the hospital

Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 12:33, on Tuesday, January 4, 2005

I received an email from Glenn Moore, class of 51, telling me Haywood Watts, class of 51, is in the hospital. I just spoke to Haywood and he sounded somewhat weak. He is in room 4132 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis and his phone number is (901) 226-4132.

Haywood, who is diabetic, said he went to the doctor for something else but they looked at the bottom of his foot and he had a very bad spot there. They talked about removing his foot, but they are watching and treating it now. He believes he may be there at least until Friday. Please keep Haywood in your thoughts and prayers.
