Update on Carolyn (Goodroe) Garrett.

Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 18:58, on Tuesday, February 26, 2008

You may remember that Carolyn Goodroe Garrett, class of 52, is in a nursing home in Oxford Mississippi. Several girl Scrappers who are friends with Carolyn drive to Oxford at least 4 times a year to visit Carolyn. It is a healthy drive from Memphis to Oxford, but they come back very pleased when they make the trip. They say Carolyn is so pleased to see them, the trip is nothing for them to make. I spoke to one of the Scrapper girls just now on the phone and she tells me how pleased Carolyn is when she gets a card or note from you. I am asking you to pick up a card and send it to Carolyn and help make her day. I cannot imagine anything worst than lying in the bed in a room, unable to get up and out. Please do it for Carolyn. Her address is Carolyn Garrett, Graceland Care Center, Room 39, 1301 Belk Bldv., Oxford Mississippi 38655.

A class of 53 Scrapper made the FRONT PAGE.

Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 11:48, on Tuesday, February 26, 2008

If you take the Memphis Commercial Appeal Newspaper, and you haven't yet thrown away the front page of the Tuesday, February 26, 2008, look at it again. Go to page D1 where it says FAREWELL, 'SPOOK'. Look at the guy on the right, behind the post with his arms folded in front of his body (also, he has grey hair). Do you recognize him? Margie did. She handed me the paper and said 'isn't that Robert McCaskill? I looked at the picture and said, 'Well, that guy is ugly enough'. I got my phone and called Robert and asked him if he went to Spook Murphy's funeral and he said yes. It is now official---Robert McCaskill made the front page of the newspaper.
