Class_of_1954Update on Pete Sanders, class of 54.Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 20:49, on Thursday, June 28, 2007
This is part of an Email from Bootsie Sanders, about husband Pete Sanders, class of 54, of Brighton TN. This is an update on Pete's condition after his recent medical problem. ------------------------------------------------------------
Great news!
We learned Monday 6/25 that the PET scan of 6/18 shows no cancer, Pete is in remission!. Thanks you for your continued love, support and mainly prayers for the two of us. God worked this out for now and we are truly thankful. The oncologist did say that this type of cancer, if it comes back, usually comes back in 2 years. Pete still tires easily but continues to do physical work at our place. He does rest throughout the day. Again, we love and appreciate all the prayers you have offered in our behalf. As the Lord brings us to mind, please keep Pete in your prayers. Hugs, Bootsie Sanders

Today was a beautiful summer day made even better by our class gathering for a potluck lunch at Helen Stahl's home in Hornsby, Tn. For the first time in all our outings, everyone had the same idea as to what food to bring. We had every kind of salad imaginable! Our crowd was smaller than usual, but we had a wonderful fun-filled day. Those present were: Erlyne Hensley Oswalt, Eva Webb Donaldson,Bernadine Grundy Reeder, Virginia and Robert Wiggins,Pat McIlvain, Thomas Gipson, Jimmie Palmer,Helen Stahl, Kathaline Harbison. We were especially pleased to have some first-timers with us.....Wayne and Martha Williams Burrell, and Betty Jo McNeil Rowan. If laughter is good for the soul, our souls were blessed in great measure today!

Class_of_1950About the late Gene Harrison, class of 1950.Posted by TerryWilliamson51 at 10:52, on Friday, June 1, 2007
This email is from Bootsie and Pete Sanders concerning Gene Harrison, class of 50, who passed away this week.
Pete and I went to Gene's visitation last night and to the service today. It was a heart-warming service. Both of our sons played for Gene in Little League at ages 10 & 11 (or some where in that area). It was so wonderful to see these boys, now grown men, at visitation and the service today, one with his wife driving from Nashville. He was soooooo hard on those boys, helping to build them into men, but loving them all thru the season and off season, always telling them that he loved them as he saw them thru the years. At one time Gene lived with son Gary out Pleasant Ridge Rd just east of our older son and would occasionally drive up in the drive when he saw Kyle in the pasture and stop and chat with him, meeting our grandson., hugging him and saying "I love you" as he left. He made a great impact on many lives. After the cemetery service a number of these young men stayed around and talked over old times/memories with Pete as Pete coached baseball with Gene at least one year. The family seemed to be doing well. We did get to speak with Sonny who doesn't look well himself. P.S. Pete is doing well, gaining strength and will have a PET scan June 18 to learn if there is cancer. Certainly we pray there is not.
From Bootsie and Pete Sanders.
