Class_of_1959TERRELL McNUTT '59Posted by LewisDalton59 at 9:48, on Saturday, June 28, 2008
Terrell McNutt '59 had surgery yesterday morning, June 27th, for an aortic aneursym.
I spoke with Terrell's son yesterday afternoon. He says during the surgery, the doctor also put stints in the arteries that feed Terrell's kidneys. This is expected to relieve the pain he has been experiencing over the last several months. He was in so much pain he was having to walk in a bent-over position.
His son tells me that a therapist was walking Terrell around the room and he was standing up better than he had in a very long time.
The operation was a complete success and Terrell is expected to be in better shape than he has been in a couple of years.
Keep Terrell in your thoughts and prayers and I'll give you updates as I receive them.

I received an email from Richard Sechler, of Middle Village, New York, class of '51. Richard says his wife Sharon, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and had a lumpectomy in December of that year. For two years she responded to hormonal treatments, but then had to go on chemo. She has been on it for about 6 months now. She is doing well, praise Him and we are looking forward to the future in serving the Lord. Her cancer is incurable, but treatable. Please pray for her especially and for me as primary care-giver.
Thanks in Christ Dick Sechler

Class_of_1954Pete Sanders '54 - A Friend to All AlumniPosted by Josephus at 14:48, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Pete is known to most of us and for those who don't know him, if you once do have that privilege you will learn to admire and love him like the rest of us. Pete has suffered from cancer in the pelvic/hip area for quite some time now and is undergoing another battle with this most horrid of disease's. Please keep Pete on your prayer list.
A word from "Bootsie" Sanders '53, Pete's wife:
Thanks for your continued loving thoughts and prayers for the two of us. We think this news was not all bad especially compared to the news we got last April (your cancer has exploded), so we came home feeling some encouraged.
Become a Barnabas today! Lift up your brother.
Class_of_1953Sydney Bonner '53Posted by Josephus at 10:12, on Monday, June 16, 2008
For those of you who don't know, Sydney has been suffering from prostate cancer but it is now in remission. I just got off the phone with him and he says he got a good report yesterday and won't have to go back for a checkup for another year.
Sydney is like a lot of us, he isn't deserving of God's love, but he get's it whether he deserves it or wants it. Proudly I can say, "Sydney is MY FRIEND", and hopefully he is yours. Keep him in your prayers.
Become a Barnabas today! Lift up your brother.

All_ScrappersOur American SoldiersPosted by Josephus at 12:20, on Friday, June 6, 2008
For some strange reason I can't quit thinking about what occurred on this day in 1944 in Normandy, Omaha Beach in particular, and what our brave soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing today. We owe much to these brave people who laid, and are laying, their lives down for us that we might be free. I would be remiss not to post my feelings, and hopefully yours, about these extraordinary people.
No matter what a lot of Americans may think, the cost of freedom has a very expensive price tag attached. That price is our youngest and bravest. Throughout our history these young men and women have stepped forward to fill the gap when our country and our way of life is threatened. I, for one, am very grateful and proud to recognize such wonderful people.
The photo was taken by Life magazine photographer, Robert Capa, on Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944. The men in the photo were of the 16th Regiment of the Big Red 1, the famous Army Division that fought in every campaign from North Africa until the war ended in Germany in 1945.
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine .... I am very proud of each of you. (To each of the Marines, because I am a Marine, Semper Fi).
